Brian Ford

Hello! My name is Brian Ford and I work in the Dennehy Lab here at Queens College. It is an Evolutionary Biology and Ecology lab and I am working on three things:

  • How the degree of relatedness affects gene flow between viruses
  • How the identity of a previous host influences subsequent viral fitness
  • Bacteriophage attachment

You can find images from some of my research here.

When not in the lab, I am also an Instructional Technology Fellow at Baruch. Before starting my doctoral research I worked at the Rockefeller University at the GENSAT Project and at the Population Council on microbicide development. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Organismal Biology and Ecology at Bard College and have a Masters in Biology from NYU.

Here at Queens I’ve taught lab sections for Intro Bio, Microbiology and Food and Human Microbiology.
