The official topic of the month is about the commencement, and endings and beginnings and what not. I personally didn’t go to my graduation or commencement ceremony when I was in undergrad. Not that I don’t find it important, after all, it is an exciting day to celebrate four years of education (or more or less) coming to a close. But like many others here at Queens College, I worked while I was a student, and I just found it more important to go to work than to go to graduation, which was on a week day (Friday I think my year). As for the commencement ceremony that I believe took place in the evening, I would get home late, and that wasn’t where I wanted to be at the time. Now, as a teacher here, my feelings remain the same, and whereas I would love to go to these things, I just simply find that I have more important things to do, or if I am not doing something more important, it’s time to relax and not do anything.
