Hi readers. I’m an instructor in the Economics department at Queens College.
I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Rutgers University. I have been teaching since the fall of 2009. I’ve taught introductory and intermediate level undergraduate courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Applied Statistics. I am relatively new to academia, but I also have enough semesters behind me to have picked up some wisdom on college instruction. I’m thrilled to have this platform to share my experiences and musings with the QC community, particularly with my fellow adjunct faculty members.
I anticipate that my upcoming posts will cover best practices in classroom teaching, the use of technology in the classroom, and the adjunct experience at QC. Perhaps this “beat” will evolve over the coming year.
I also look forward to reading the posts of other Teaching Circle bloggers, and interacting with community members in the comments section.
